OutFoxed
I was shocked when watching “Outfoxed.” I must have been living in a hole, I never knew that Fox news network was a conservative station. I always believed them when they said that they covered the news fair. But after watching this movie, I know that they heavily favor the republicans. The part that shocked me the most was when they were counting down to President Bush’s re-election, and not a countdown to a fair election. I don’t understand how someone can do that and then say they don’t favor one side. I think that if you are going to be showing the news, you should be a neutral source, or at least be honest about which side you are on. Fox News Network uses all kinds of loopholes to say whatever they want. Their most famous line is “some say,” if you put that before something, than you can say anything. This doesn’t mean that it is a fact, someone just said it at one point in time. So if a reporter hears someone say that George W. Bush is the best president of all time, then they can legally go on the air and say, “some say that George W. Bush is the best president of all time.” I don’t think that a news company should be able to do that, especially one that is “fair and balanced.” The one part that I hated more than any is how they would just cut people off. If you are trying to display the news, especially “fair and balanced” news, then you must let everyone give their opinion, but whenever someone goes on Fox News Network, with a liberal view, they don’t let them speak. They will even cut the microphone. I don’t understand how this is fair and balanced. When a corporation effects the media in this way, it is bad. When the news casters are being told to bend the truth in order to say what a corporation wants, then the news has lost all its power. How can you ever believe something from Fox News Network, when you know that almost everything they say is based on lies. Also, if you were to believe all the propaganda that Fox News Network puts out, then everyone would hate the republicans, and love George W. Bush. Maybe that is the reason he got re-elected. The one thing I know for sure is we can not allow this to keep happening. Someone has to put an end to bias news.
